Life Update(s)

Been MIA on this blog for almost four weeks. Apologies. But A LOT has happened during this time. Went out with a couple of people, made lot of trips to Boston, Acadia again, read a lot of interesting things, finally got Homo Deus, bought a plant (I am thinking of naming it Hazel Grace), and decorated my room with series lights. Will write about all of it.

I was very busy with office work these days. Since I will start making machine learning models seriously, I'll have to more responsible towards my work. Because as of now, it was restricted to data analysis, reporting, viz, database querying, etc. But now things are getting serious.

So I decided to have a life outside of work to avoid burnout. Went out with H. Found out that she had lived in Italy and Ireland during her exchange semester, and now works as a transfer specialist in Portland. We talked a lot about alchemy, religion, existential crisis, travel, pets (almost everything). Initially we planned on watching the Green Knight at Nickelodeon Cinemas after grabbing dinner at Old Port. But we kept talking and talking at Old Port and lost the track of time. After the clock hit 10pm, we strolled in the streets of Portland, sat in a park and chatted for another 2 hours. I distinctly remember there was no one at the park, and were talking and talking. And then it was 12pm all of a sudden. We started at the moon for like 2 minutes and called the night. It was a good night.

The next day, went to Boston to Ritesh bhai's place. Stayed there with Ashish Bhai. And came to Portland for the next couple of weeks. Again got busy with work and then had to visit Boston again. Stayed at Kanishk bhai's place this time for 3 days. Met Kanishk and Vishesh bhai's housemate Varshitha. She's studying law at Northeastern. Very very rare of an international student from India studying law. But turns out she likes the field, so yeah totally worth it to follow your dreams. Afterall, yolo. But yeah, she's a good good person. Kind hearted, humble, and soft spoken.

So, when Vishesh Bhai, Varshitha, and group went to White mountain, Kanishk bhai and me went to Kedar bhai's for a get together. It was CRAAAAAZY. Came home at 2 am that day because everyone was listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan so didn't wanted to break the party (given that next day was Saturday). But I am an early bird. So, woke up early. Had to meet S at her place. Turns out she's studying Journalism at Boston University. Had burrito and cake over there. Chatted for good 2 hours. Too early to judge, but she's down to earth, and humble. Apparently has beautiful eyes (which intimated me all the while in a good way).

So, after meeting S, went to university to catchup with Parth. Sat with him for half an hour and planned a trip to Vermont this coming weekend to see fall colors. Took the 5:15pm bus to Portland. Got there at 7. Caught an Uber and here comes interesting part.

I striked conversation with Uber, and we talked a lot. He gave me a lot of career advice (he dropped out after 2 years of his Bioengineering PhD!). You see, you meet a lot of interesting people when you visit out of your comfort zone. So, yeah we talked. And he became my first client (remember myspoonfeed?). He owns a company and wanted an application. And yours truly has B.Tech in CSE and an MS in Data Analytics (wink wink).

Came home. Watered Hazel Grace, decorated my room. Ate mayo and bread as dinner with oatmeal cookies (hahah lazy ass). And that's it!

So, yeah crazy 4 weeks. Beautiful crazy four weeks.

Hopefully will go to Vermont with Ashish Bhai, Him, and Arnav.

Life's good.

S
