The Ideological Barrier

We all keep reading news, hear opinions, debate with friends on ideologies. Here, I am specifically talking about political ideologies. Because it is one of the main things which decides the traits of an individual on a smaller level and adds upto the fate of society and nation as a whole.

I'm not going to write about the cliche capitalism vs communism debate. But I will try to give you a torch, which will help you to tread a path of your own. Truth is subjective, and you have to decide your own. But yes, I also believe that there are some truths which can be generalized in an objective manner.

I believe that a person who is in love with one side of ideologies (be it left or right) is certainly not correct. He doesn't have free thoughts, it's just an impression of an ideology which he read while seeing the world through it's bias.

I'll love to put forward some examples: Feminism. This word is a topic of heated debates in every part of the world. Giving equal rights to women. But, I believe every country has it's own 'levels' of feminism depending on the cultural and ideological developments. You just can't fight for women roaming around in bikinis on streets in Dubai. It isn't practical. It's their culture and you should respect it. Yes, the same thing can be raised in the US/EU because of cultural openness. To do the same in Dubai, you'll need to gradually shift the mindsets. Also, what if the women there are comfortable in Hijab? You can't cherrypick women out of millions, broadcast their interviews around the world and fight for bikinis in the middle east. I know you might not find this 'very' convincing. But I wanted to make a point.

This is my favorite example now. Leftist ideology demands 'equal outcomes for every individual'. But is it correct if there are differences in 'efforts'? Or where do you give equal outcomes to every individual? Is it after completing schooling? Is it after the birth itself? And so on.. Similarly, right wing is inclined towards communal agenda heavily rather than focusing on eradicating poverty, then ensuring communal stability.

So yeah. This is my thought structure regarding ideologies. And there are people who are blindly stuck to only one pillar. To ensure a good foundation you should pick the best of everything. Maybe this is why people end up having riffs with their friends/family just because they're not ready to acknowledge fallacies in their ideology.

Well, that is it for this post. Follow your own truth.

Life's good.
